Ducktown is located in the Copper Basin/Ocoee River region of the Southern Appalachian Mountains 2 hours north of Atlanta, 1-1/2 hours east of Chattanooga, 2-1/2 hours south of Knoxville and 2-1/2 hours southwest of Asheville. The 1996 Summer Olympic Whitewater Events were held on the nearby Ocoee River.
