Guide to the Swan Drive-In Theatre

The ticket gates at the Swan Drive-In Theatre open at 6:00 p.m., so aim to arrive right at the opening to secure a parking spot in the front row. The front row has easy access to the picnic tables and lawn area right in front of the screen.

If you're meeting up with friends or family, coordinate your arrival plans in advance. This will allow your group to easily caravan in and park vehicles together. Set up chairs, blankets and snacks in the spaces in front of the cars for the perfect hangout.

While all you truly need to enjoy a drive-in movie is your car radio tuned to the right station, bringing along these simple items can elevate your experience.

• Radio - Tune your radio to 105.5 FM to experience the Swan's crisp FM stereo sound right from your vehicle. If you don't have a working car radio, no problem! Portable radios also work. Need a radio? Swan Drive-in has retro-styled portable radios available to rent or purchase.
• Batteries - If you’re using a portable radio, be sure to bring some extra batteries.
• Seating - Bring camp chairs or folding outdoor chairs so you can set up a cozy viewing area outside of your car.
• Blankets - Pack plenty of blankets to get comfortable or stay warm on cooler nights.
• Pillows - Pillows make leaning back in your hatchback or truck bed more relaxing.
• Air Mattress - Add some cushioning to your car with an inflatable mattress or sleeping pad.
• Flashlight - A flashlight comes in handy for packing up after sundown.
• Trash bag - Grab a large trash bag to keep your space clean and tidy throughout the evening.
• Activities - Keep little ones entertained before the movie with games and activities like a puzzle or coloring book.

No drive-in movie experience would be complete without indulging in some classic concession stand treats. The diner opens right when the gates do, so come hungry! The signature movie snack is definitely the fresh, buttery popcorn piled high. But be sure to try the diner's can't miss treats including the funnel cake dusted with powdered sugar, decadent fried Oreos, and fried pickles.

If you're craving something more substantial, the grill serves up all-American fare like juicy burgers, corn dogs, and oversized soft pretzels perfect for dipping. Don't forget to try an old-fashioned float combining creamy ice cream with your choice of soda for a nostalgic sweet treat. For a truly retro experience, try ordering with the carhop service. Beginning around 7:45 p.m., carhops will deliver food directly to your parking spot until at least 20 minutes after the start of the final film.
