The Fannin County School System

The Fannin County School System is a Georgia Charter School system that has achieved district-level accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS/CASI).

The Fannin County School System (FCSS) consists of five schools: Blue Ridge Elementary (K-5); East Fannin Elementary (K-5); West Fannin Elementary (K-5); Fannin County Middle School (6-8); and Fannin County High School (9-12). The district serves approximately 2,978 students in grades K-12, served by 258 certified teachers. Mountain Area Christian Academy (MACA)

Mountain Area Christian Academy is a fully accredited private Christian school serving Fannin, Union, Towns, and Gilmer County, Georgia as well as Polk County, Tennessee and Cherokee County, North Carolina since August 2000. Parents have found MACA offers an educational environment that is comprehensive and facilitated by experienced administrators and faculty who have a desire to educate the whole child. University of North Georgia Blue Ridge Campus

UNG’s Blue Ridge Campus first opened as a small instructional site in 2015. In August 2020, UNG opened a standalone campus facility to serve the region, welcoming hundreds of Blue Ridge Campus students. The campus offers a variety of educational pathways that include dual-enrollment courses for high school students, a full-time program for first-time freshmen with courses that will enable students to complete degrees in regional high-demand disciplines, courses for adult learners getting started in college or returning to college to complete a degree, as well as continuing and professional education programs for career growth or personal enrichment. North Georgia Technical College

North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) opened its Blairsville campus in 1998, a state-of-the-art $5.5-million facility with 48,000 square feet of classrooms, labs, and administrative space. The latest technology is found in every program. Student enrollment is about 500. NGTC was accredited in 2008 to offer two-year associate degrees as well as technical certificates and diplomas in a variety of career fields.
