Join artist and instructor Joyce Clair as she guides you step-by-step to complete a successful watercolor painting. Students will draw and paint “flame azaleas” using watercolor pencils, which allow for more control and the colors come alive when activated with water. Watercolor pencils are an easy introduction to watercolor painting for beginners and a new tool for the intermediate student to try. The floral image will be traced or drawn free hand. Other techniques covered will include drawing tips, layering colors, dry and wet application techniques, and water control. Students will also paint a color reference chart, draw a flower, and complete an 8x10 watercolor painting. Each student will receive a set of 12-artist-grade watercolor pencils, an aqua brush, and an 11x14 mat for your finished painting.
