Join artist Jan Carney and learn how to produce a quality wood burnt piece of art. Learn how to safely operate a wood burner, how to shade, transfer patterns, prepare wood for burning, how to finish a wood burning, and what types of wood are safe to burn. Other techniques that students will learn about are outlining, shading by stippling, cross-hatching and circling and coloring on wood. Students will produce a wood burnt owl to a live edge slab of basswood. The supply fee covers the wood and tools needed for the project.

Students should bring a set of Primacolor colored pencils.
