Blue Ridge

Blue Ridge is a railroad town, with the historic Blue Ridge Depot at its center. The historic rail cars of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway and downtown Info Center will make you feel you have stepped back to a simpler time. But you will be amazed at the quality and number of upscale restaurants, shops and galleries along Main Street, and a whole day could be devoted just to discovering downtown Blue Ridge. At the center of town is a downtown park enjoyed by young and old, with picnic tables, a covered pavilion, kid's playground and a new impressive piece of rainbow trout chainsaw art! McCaysville

A river runs through the mining towns of McCaysville and its twin city, Copperhill, Tennessee. Stand in both states at one time at the Blue Line, which marks the spot where Georgia ends and Tennessee begins. Cross over the steel bridge crossing the Toccoa/Ocoee River and go from Georgia to Tennessee (or vice versa) in just a minute or two! Be sure and visit the McCaysville Visitor Center, located beside the Toccoa River adjacent to the concrete bridge. The center has a pocket park along the river and exhibits featuring historic photographs and artifacts from the Copper Basin. Across the street is the newly developed Riverwalk Shops and restaurants.
